Langham Arapaho
Cask at Hole in the Wall, Portsmouth. Aroma is fruity with a sour streak. Opaque amber. Blotchy foamy white head. Medium bitter. Sour edge. Resin and herbs. Citrus. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice enough. Relatively punchy but doesn't quite work.

Tried the lsd and sundowner at the same time. The others have a softer mouthfeel. This is a decent bitter though it's full of maltiness with a fair bitterness.

April 2023. Olaf's Tun Southampton. The train fatality day. Rounded mild. Yeah, this is nice. Pretty much what you'd expect from a dark mild. Watery charcoal and butter with a whiff of blackberry. OK. [2.7]

Threw me.. for some reason was expecting an IPA.. start again. Pours deep amber red. Nose of toffee apples with a light hoppy spice. Tastes much the same, lingeringly sweet but with just enough bitterness to see it off. A nice cold weather brew. Bottle from local section in co op.

Langham Triple XXX
Cask @ Handle Bar, Southampton. Dark with an off-white bubbly head. As full-bodied as a traditional mild can get, feeling good in the palate. It has a light tasting, mildly floral dark malt character.

Aroma : Not much...tiny note of caramel malt, light lemon citrus with a hint of herbage. Taste : Thin watery body. Moderate to high hoppy bitterness throughout. Overriding flavour is a light bitter lemon, with just the merest touch of sweet caramel malt in the background. Higher hoppy bitterness than usual for style & above average for a blonde but still nothing special!

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Handle Bar, Southampton on 11th June 2022. Great to see a new (to me) Mild these days, so had to try it, glad I did. Almost black with a beige head. Malty front with a mini chocolate aroma and taste, nice traditional Mild with an ABV that is well hidden within it's flavours.

Keg at Horse & Groom, Chobham. Somewhere in there we have stone fruit and a touch of citrus but it tests the nose muscles. Hazy healthy looking orange. Thin translucent white head. At first it appears to be medium bitter but on a third mouthful the bitterness really kicks in - resin. Underlying stone fruit and citrus but overshadowed by the bitterness. Spice. Hints of malts. Medium-heavy bodied. Slick. Flat prickly carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. A bitter NEIPA and possibly less juicy than intended?

Langham Aegir
Bottle from Secretts, Milford. Aroma is of course smokey, tar, with a liquorice and vegetable streak. Dark and glossy. Thin foamy light beige head. Medium-heavy bitter. Warming tar. Liquorice. But it's primarily acrid. Underlying vaguest hints of creamy sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Oily. But thin. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Not great. Just fails to get the balance right and... yeah... it's just acrid.

Medium bitter. Some spice. Underlying chocolate and salted caramel sweetness. Malty hints. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Better than I was expecting. Quite enjoyable.
