Bottle, shared with my dad. Clear medium gold, average white head. Pretty much by the numbers for a Czech pils, although I prefer a little more attenuation and a little more hoppy bite. Tame, clean.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear deep golden, off-white creamy head. Malty and bready aroma, along with some more common strong lager notes, a hint of fusels, fresh mown grass, zucchini. Taste: light malty sweetness, white bread, moderate bitter grassy finish. And more important - no usual strong lager harshness, clean and smooth mouthfeel.

Keg at U Kunstatu, Prague. A clear golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grain, a little mineral, grass and spicy, floral hops. Taste is similar of barley, grass and spicy, floral hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, floral hop bitterness in the finish. A dry but freshly hopped Pilsner, surprised me this did.

Pint after pint of this gear at the stadium for Benesov v Zizkov. I love it when you do an away game and they are selling their local beer instead of Gambrinus. We went down 1-0 on the stroke of halftime but pulled it back courtesy of Pepa Marek and eventually won the match 2-1. Great away day. Benesov is where the Archduke Franz Ferdinand lived which is why the brewery took his name. Good beer.
