3 Skyscraper Bulldozer Honey Weizen Bottle:   Golden, fairly clear (filtered), moderate frothy head, white, spotty lacing.   Dusty wheaty nose, almost this spicy like celery too.   Odd...   Wheaty on the tongue, noticeable honeycomb like cereal (must be the honey).   Its assertive, but dull.   Nearing the cloying side, but not too bad.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems a little cereal like in the finish, and not as wheaty as I would like.   Rather its mealy.   Decent, and I wish I could say I have had better.   I think the last time I had a honey weizen was back with Petes Wicked did one back in the early to mid 90s. 2 Skyscraper Bourbon-Barrel Sour Lug Nut Lager Bottle 316 of 372. Pours amber brown with off white head. Nose of nail polish remover and overripe fruit. Taste of almonds, nutty malt, chalky nuts and old fruit sitting in an acid bath. Very short finish - which is probably good in this case. Lighter body. Sunday, May 20, 2012

2.5 Skyscraper Bourbon-Barrel Sour Lug Nut Lager Bottle courtesy of James at a tasting at his placee. Pours a hazy amber ruby gold with a thin white head. Marzipan on the nose, malt and sweetness. Toast and sweet malt. Sugar and candy. Sweet and musky, toast and malt on the nose. Lots of acetone, nutty malt, sour acid, funky malt. Unpleasant with a lot of acid. Meh. Tastes like poison. 1.8 Skyscraper Bulldozer Honey Weizen A: Pours a clear golden color with an enormous white head that fills about 90% of the glass. S: Smells a bit metallic with some light sourness to it. Lemon zest and green apples only add to that sensation. A touch of wheat and bread, minimal sweetness, and not much else. T: The flavor is watery and a bit tart. Not much in the way of bread or wheat flavor, or honey. Slightly sour with some lemon peel flavor. A bit more green apple toward the finish. M: Light bodied with excessive carbonation. O: Skyscraper with another "fine" product... Sunday, September 4, 2011

3 Skyscraper Winter Warmer 22oz bottle. Rating #23. Dark red with some orange highlights with a small dirty white head. Lots if spice, cinnamon us dominant, and a little something I can’t place. Flavor is pumpkin spice and it lingers for awhile, interesting, just a little too much for me. (1807) Wednesday, July 20, 2011

3.9 Skyscraper Backhoe Brown Enjoyed at brewery along with their other offerings. A dark brown pour producing a quality head which left some lacing. Smells of roasted coffee and chocolate. First sip produces tastes of the semi-sweet toasted malts and this is when the hops make their pressence known. Medium mouth feel finishes fairly dry Thursday, January 13, 2011

3.2 Skyscraper Winter Warmer They are not kidding about the spices. This is reminiscent of pumpkin beers but with an added touch of honey that actually adds something instead of cloying like it usually does. If you don’t like this style, this won’t change your mind. Pours almost red in color and is not a winter warmer with the low abv but is a solid beer for the category. Thursday, December 30, 2010

2.4 Skyscraper Winter Warmer Bottle of the 2010 batch with a more modern label. Pours with a hazed brown body and a small tan head that fades. Aromas of honey, sour milk, nutmeg, vegetables, cinnamon, sweetpotatoes, and raw grain. Flavors are sweet and sour. Cinnamon, grain, brown sugar, with a sharply acidic (infected) finish. Lactic acid, nutmeg. Like a snickerdoodle cookie with a vinegar glaze. Not pleasant. Lively bubbles. A flawed beer. Tuesday, December 28, 2010

3 Skyscraper Sancha Mexican Style Lager Bottle (that is bottle conditioned). The only real reason I picked this up was to add it to the database. I am not particularly psyched up for trying this. Lets see. Pours with a chill hazed golden body and a massive white head. Looks like a Belgian Tripel in my tasting glass. Aromas of grain, grass, corn, spicy, a bit of orange zest, bready and nearly a note of candi sugar (yeah, odd). Anyway. Flavors are bitter, and very bready, with light sweetness and citrus throughout. Some spiciness from the hops. Pretty light and refreshing. Nothing really wrong with this at all. A nice and zesty lager with no faults. I don’t get the Mexican style lager reference as this is better than any lager that I have sampled from Mexico. Lively bubbles. A bit thin. 2.1 Skyscraper Bourbon-Barrel Sour Lug Nut Lager A: The pour is a slightly hazy amber color with no head to speak of. S: The nose is overrun by diacetyl--incredibly buttery and caramelly. There’s a slight tartness to the nose and perhaps a bit of vinegar as well. No bourbon aromas to speak of, however. T: The taste is just as buttery as the nose is. Lots of butterscotch and caramel flavors. While there is some decent sourness going on, it’s more to just cut through the cream qualities of the beer. M: I expected even less in this regard than a "regular" lager considering it’s barrel aged. However, this was one of the better aspects of the beer. Light to medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. D: This beer is pediococcus gone wild. While it is a bug that produces lactic acid, it is also known to produce diacetyl, and that it has done (in staggering amounts). This was an interesting experiment, but not a very pleasant result. 2.9 Skyscraper Bulldozer Honey Weizen A little too sweet for me without much to back it up. Pours a golden color but not much in the aroma. I expect it would be really better in summer but it could use a little more spice or something else to punch it up. Friday, January 1, 2010

2.4 Skyscraper Winter Warmer Bottle, shared by Papsoe. It’s a hazy, copper-colored beer with a minimal-sized beige head. Cardamom, cloves, citrus and some caramel in the aroma. The flavor has cardamom and cloves with caramel as a foundation. Citrusy fruityness to give some more complexity. Medium body. Caramel and citrus in the finish. Some obvious hints of infection in this one, but still sort of ok. 090821 Monday, October 19, 2009

3.5 Skyscraper Lug Nut Lager Poured a slightly haxy reddish orange with thin off white head that lingers well into the glass as a thin ring atop. Nose is hoppy citrus fruit and apples, and the mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly tingly. Flavor pisks up the hoppy fruit of the nose and the finish is tart and dry, yet a little short. I apparently think more of this beer than most raters, but I thionk it would make a good session beer. Tuesday, September 29, 2009
