BrewDog Ship Wreck
330ml bottle from Brewdog.com. Pours amber, small white head. Aroma is of turps and marmalade. Taste is strong alcohol and islay peat that towers menacingly over those syrupy barley wine fruits. Too rich and boozy. Not diggin this.

Pours pale golden color, clear, with white foamy head. Aroma: pale malt aroma which takes on white bread with spicy floral, slightly citrusy notes of hops. Flavor is the same. Finish is dry, bitter. Bitterness is medium, body light ro medium, texture is soft, carbonation is medium. I asked my self: why premium?

Oak. My first impression upon cracking the cap of this five year-old Imperial Stout is the deep, rich tones of oak. Vanilla; tart, over-ripened fruits, and rich chocolates are all abundant as I pour the brew into my favorite snifter. I watch the beer cascade into the glass, the ruby-nut brown liquid is only visible for half and inch before the density of the color overtakes the light and smothers the color to almost midnight. A khaki head starts large, but dissipates to a seething rings around the inside of the glass, a single islet swirling slowly in the center of the beer. A single drop escapes the pour and I can’t allow it to free itself from the neck of the bottle entirely, so I catch it with my tongue. As rich as a liqueur, even a drop is powerful. I sip gently at the rim, cautious but excited at the taste of this brew. Given to me by a friend, this has been carefully aged for five long years, and I am the recipient of such a delicious gift. I expect a raging lion; rather, the taste is smooth and only slightly ferocious; surprising, considering the ABV and the dragon-esque presence of the aroma. With each tip of the glass, I pull harder...deeper, eventually filling my mouth with the heady brew, savoring the viscous nature of the body and delighting in the slight sting on my gums and the edges of my lips. The cranberries are obtainable through the oak, the chocolates, and I am relishing the differences between the olfactory exploration and the flavor profile. Although I can feel the warmth of the alcohol flooding my body, the booze is difficult to decipher in either the aroma or the taste of this excellent beer. The finish is short and easy, welcoming...dangerous at 18.2%. The oak lingers...delicious. I have never had this fresh, and I’m not sure I would try it again without some age.

Piwo klarowne w kolorze ciemno miedzianym z dosc obfita grubopecherzykowa piana.

Can from BrewDog website. Awesome name and can art. Quite red looking, on the red side of ruddy brown, white foam. Superb tasty stuff, spicy and sweet malts, toffee, dulce de leche, then a big resiny citrusy hop crunch. Bitter finish, long. Really nice trade-off for the sweet malt and bitter hop.

Bottle, from Brewdog. Light golden colour, white foam. Solid enough light Belgian style here, nice sweetish estery fruitiness, hint of spice, a little citrusy hop. Easy drinking. I expected this to be more aggressively hopped and bitter though given the house style, left me a little bit disappointed. It was pleasant though.

BrewDog Barrel Aged Albino Squid Assassin
Butelka. Barwa ciemno brunatna, klarowna. Naszym krajowym przedstawicielom jeszcze brakuje do uzyskania takiego poziomu.

Bottle. Rich gold pour with a thin offwhite head. Nose is incredibly grapefruity hops. A touch of pine. In the mouth, it’s bitter all the way around the sides, with a sweet touch drifting over the top. Good balance. Some pine flavours drifting up to the nose once it settles down. A little bit of lemon, but grapefruits are the main flavour here. Nice... and it should go well with my curry!

BrewDog Ace of Chinook
330ml bottle from Brewdog.com (£1.90):
A so-so offering from Brewdog, miles better than their Ace Of Citra beer in the series but it never really hit the heights of the first in the series either with the Simcoe edition proving to be a far superior beer. There was some nice touches of citrus, pine & some lighter tropical fruits coming through but my biggest complaint was that everything could have been a lot more pronounced really. Definitely a drinkable offering but it’s not exactly one that you’d find yourself hurrying back to & it’s not one I’ll be looking out for to try again either sadly.

Bottle, from Tesco. Hazy lemon gold, fluffy and sustained white head and good condition. Earthy yeast with a suggestion of sour fruitiness and slight sweet maltiness.
