3.5 Miyozakura Panda Cup Sake One cup with dated of 21-12-7, drunk 7/1/22. Clear. Very sweet and nutty with fair amount of fruitiness. Sweaty yeast and surprisingly low alcohol. Lots of light coconut and pineapple, but not acidic or sharp. Soft and sweet, very nutty, sweaty, with cooked white rice and light coconut fruitiness. A bit sweaty, a bit sweet, but soft and nutty and zero sharpness or alcohol, so that's pretty cool. Friday, July 1, 2022

3.3 Miyozakura Panda Cup Sake Translated label says "Miyozakura Junmai Cup" but pandas and ABV match. Clear, perhaps a greenish hue. Rich buttery rice aroma with some roasted nut skins. Oily, no carbonation. Rich and fat but dries out towards the end. Some slightly harsh burnt nut notes and a little naked alcohol. Some melon in the aftertaste, more as it warms a little. Classier than I'd guessed and dangerously quaffable. Monday, March 21, 2022

3.8 Miyozakura Namachozo Sake Cleaning out my fridge and what do I find? This little gem that I picked up in Gifu Prefecture on my last trip through mainland Japan before I moved here to Okinawa. As Jordan said, an off yellow, like a mild Jasmin Tea. Light alcohol and the buttery quality he described. Slick feel, thick & chewy, I want to use a spoon! Very rich and creamy, peach yogurt comes to mind. This makes me realize how much I’ve missed drinking good sake. Tuesday, December 26, 2006

3.6 Miyozakura Namachozo Sake 300mL Bottle: Pours a light yellow color as you can tell from the picture. Some people say clear is the way to go, and clear is pretty, but some good color shows that the sake wasn’t filtered heavily (physical or chemical). Some spotty legs and light creamy swirls. The nose is full of floral buttery nama with some light melon and pancake. The flavor is sweet, balanced, light alcohol, lots of umami and sweet maple banana notes. Mmmmm, nama. A light alcohol pinch in the tail with a more creamy mouthfeel. Finishes balanced, brief tail. Surprising for the low seimaibuai on this sake. Thanks Dan! Friday, September 15, 2006
