Coastal Barrel Aged Sour
On tap at Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe. This was brewed by Coastal when they were still in Cornwall. They have yet to start brewing in Cheshire. Has a highly spirits orientated nose (think it was rum). Pours a murky dark brown with a reddish tinge, and a minimal cream head. Dark fruits (plums, cherries, dates) dominate the taste, with figs, crab apples and gooseberries to the fore. The texture is a bit watery, and is initially sweetish, but turns to sour whilst still in the mouth. Finish is the residual sourness. Ooh matron ! This is very drinkable.

Coastal Erosion
Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Pigs Ear 2019. Pours clear red-brown with a foamy, khaki head. Really interesting stuff. Moderately sweet, some tangy berries, a little funk, earthy bitterness, toffee, toasted malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly sweet finish, jammy berries, more soft funk, brown bread, old wood, leaves, maybe a little smoke even. A real novelty.

Coastal Euphoria
19th July 2020
Clear deep amber beer, a few tan bubbles dissapate quickly. Palate is light and fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. The malts bring a little dark toffee that isn't sweet and starts to show some bitterness. Ripe bitterish orange peel and a touch of dark marmalade. Light finish. It's alright but should be delivering more an all fronts considering the abv. Red IPA? Twaddle!

Coastal St Pirans Porter
Cask at The St. Albans Beer Festival on 25/09/2008. Not bad, but a little thin and there was a slight wet paper note to the aroma. Otherwise, some pleasant bitterness at the end.

Gravicask (Rail Ale 2019, Crewe) (6:4:5:2:10=2.7) Deep amber. Sweet malty aroma. Some problems in the taste, a sour hint. Sweet and dull, deadish palate. This tastes like a failure to store sweet water hygenically - not everything that happened could be considered "wrong", but just because alcohol was formed doesn't make it right.

Coastal Euphoria
Gravicask (Rail Ale 2019, Crewe) (4:3:4:2:8=2.1) Ugh, toiletty aroma. Sour taste. Nope. However, it did lead to an interesting discussion with Steve who brewed 7168 (best beer of the festival) whether this was an acetobacter (his guess) rather than an enterobacter (mine). Such silver linings are not worth the clouds they come with.

Coastal Kernow Imperial Stout
Gravicask (Rail Ale 2019, Crewe) (6:4:6:3:12=3.1) Black, small beige head. Blandish sweet roasty aroma. Full palate, very sweet and a little slick. Big bold heavy roasted taste, chocolatey more than burnt. A heavy brew, and a bit too sweet.

Coastal St Pirans Porter
Gravicask (Rail Ale 2019, Crewe) (7:4+:7:5-:15-=3.8-) Black, ight beige head. Rich roasty aroma, plenty of spicy hopping, almost like some BIPAs. Rich full spicy roasty taste. Super smooth succulent palate. Lovely bitter finish. A lesser brewer would call this a black IPA, but it's base is clearly a porter that the hop bill has been amplified in.
