Aroma is fruity, orange, malt, peach, flowers. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, oily and watery, prickly carbonation. Enjoyable. Sunday, June 18, 2023
Grumbo	3.1 Shalford Barnfield Pale Ale 24/2/2023. Cask at the Three Wise Monkeys (Colchester) Winter Beer Festival. Pours almost clear pale golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is light, malty, citrus, floral notes. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Easy drinker. Friday, February 24, 2023

Roasted malty nose, hints of black chocolate. Dark malt-forward taste of chocolate, dark bread and liquorice followed by a smooth roasted bitterness. Fine depth. Nice. (Nottingham 13.10.2022). Rune	3.2 Shalford Hyde Bitter Gravicask at The 14th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival '22, Marquee Bar. Shared with Finn. Dotted spots on the glass, low white head to a clear amber body. Inviting smell of ripe fruits and mild malty sweetness. Rounded taste of leafy hops, apricot, and mid-sweet malts. Mid-dry bittersweet finish. Pretty good. (Nottingham 13.10.2022). imdownthepub	3.4 Shalford Rotten End Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival '22. Reddish amber with white head. This proved to be a very fruity beer from the off. Reasonably sweet malts with sweet peach, apricot and sultana notes. A tad boozy. It's fine. Sunday, October 23, 2022

FACambridge	2.5 Shalford Rotten End (from old notes) - Aroma : Malty toffee, that is somewhat swamped by notes of tobacco, candied dried fruits, a little pepper & yeast. Taste : Solid medium body. Flavours pretty much as aroma. Very bitter from the off with a slight acrid touch & a little peppery tingle on the tongue. Has a slight acidic aftertaste. Overall a little weird! FACambridge	2.3 Shalford Hyde Bitter (from old notes) - Aroma : Not much...Light toffee malt, hint of citrus with a light flowery hoppiness. Taste : Body on the light side of medium. FACambridge	2 Shalford Stoneley Bitter (from old notes) - Aroma : A medium sweet caramel maltiness, subtle soft & citrus fruity hoppy notes. Taste : Thinnish body. Moderate hoppy fruity bitterness throughout with a light carmel maltiness underneath. Not horrible just all rather indistinct and boring though Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dried fruit, sweet malt, fruity. Halfling_4132	2.1 Shalford Rotten End Unfiltered, burned terracotta colour with a creamy yellow foam. Aromas of crisp apples and grapes with developing chocolate and coffee. lokis333	2.9 Shalford Rotten End Unfiltered deep ruby color with strong and brown/yellow foam. Aromas of fruits, apples, sweet, plum and bit grasy notes. Palate, full body, thick and heavy going, very bitter and heavy aftertaste. Taste is bitter vry bitter, maybe too bitter also sour, has some coffee and roasted notes behind. Overall interesting, heavy and dark tasting in a way, reminds some porters, dark and very heavy going. The fact that it is heavy going and full body that I like, this beer is bit too much in a way and makes it not that enjoyable to drink in my opinion. Sunday, November 15, 2015
