Bottle shared with McTapps. Simple helles with just a bit malt in the aroma. Strange sourness in the aftertaste. Below average.

Ergenzinger Ochsenbräu Export
Another ugly beer label bottle of Ochsenbräu, but everybody knows you shouldn’t judge your beer by its bottle design. It has got a mild golden colour with steady head and medium to thin body. Nose of bitter hops. Taste of basement, wine cellar, medium bitter hops, grass, green grains and cereals. Not that easy to drink, no bit quaffable or even good.

Ergenzinger Ochsenbräu Pils Feinherb
Clear to light cloudy yellow colour with low head and thin body. Nose of malt. Taste of mild hops, sour malt, unripe grains, basement and cloves. Easy to drink but just that touch too much dusty and dull.

Thanks to quack-duck for that one. Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts strong, malty-spicy, also some woody notes. Finish strong, a bit alcoholic and too unbalanced. Not the best beer from that brewery!

Big thanks to quack-duck for that bottle. Looks very simple. Beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts very mild, modest dry, not as malty dominated as others beers of that brewery. Finish well balanced with grasy-moldy notes. Okay.

Leicht nussig, trocken werdend, aromatisch. Netter Bock ohne große Besonderheiten. Test vom 4.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,10,10,5,9 - 9,10

Ergenzinger Ochsenbräu Keller-Bier Spezial
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck: It pours a murky pale golden beer with a beautifully remainig lacing tall white head. I served this beer at a temperature which was slightly too cold; anyway: as it warmed up the aroma got gradually more complex: Very pleasant and inviting with papaya, hops, pineapple, milk chocolate, a lot of almonds and figs showing up. Fruity and grainy. Nice balance on the palate. Beautiful hop profile. Papaya being rather present accompanied by pineapple and almonds. Wonderfully fruity. Low carbonation. Subuded bitterness. Reminiscence of jasmine, candy sugar, papaya and pineapple in the finish which is makes you eager to drink more. A top notch Zwickel with plenty of character. Mindblowingly pleasant. Thanks a lot Quack-Duck!
