Dark brown color. A lot of aniseed and dr pepper in the nose. Tons of aniseed and dr pepper in the mouth. Low carbonation. The anise is really strong in this and I like it. Probably not everyoneís cup of tea but I enjoyed it.

Bomber from brewery. Very dark brown, not black. Long lasting head. Not sure what makes this a white chocolate. Not really imperial stout, more like a strong brown. Some lactose with see sugar but not sweet malts. Itís very drinkable but not particularly interesting.

Naked City NC 17 Malt Liquor
Growler thanks to beastie! Nose is moderate adjunct, corn. Fairly clear gol with a small white head. Taste is initially very sweet, sugary, almost a lactose or creamy sugar. Nose shows some light butter as it warms. Moderate fruitiness in the flavor. Lacks any hot or fusel alcohol. Lacks any candy apple yeast esters too. Actually not bad.

Draft at brewery. Lightly hazy golden color. Sticky icky lacing. Aroma is green hops and sticky sweet malts, also a little orange. Mouthfeel is sticky but doable. Flavor again is sweet and sticky but not sickly. Bitterness breaks through in the end. Meh, 3xIPA.

Draft at NC. Deep dark pour, tiny tiny ring of microbubbles around the edge. Brown sugar, chocolate, and vinegar. Taste finishes with some ... sweaty socks? I dunno, something though. Oak. Not offensive, but more or less reminiscent of a big sweet balsamic vinaigrette (heavy on the sugar).

Naked City / Geaux Geaux Naked
Draft at brewery. Very cloudy brown amber. Aroma is just slightly astringent thick and chew malts. Itís relatively a light aroma, alcohol present but not overly strong. Very doable astringency, a light toffeeness with light cherry alcohol. Flavor is similar lightly astringent toffee malts with cherry accents. Alcohol really sticks around my throat. This beer makes sense.

6oz at brewery. Super dark ruby color, almost black. So, the beer is definitely sour and strong, as expected. But it basically tastes like a soy sauce strong ale with acetic barrel. It tool me forever to figure out what this is reminiscent of Lost Abbey. This is a Lost Abbey clone, which is not good for me.

Naked City The Knowledge
Sampler at brewery. Dark brown, red-tinged, small fine-bubbled head. Surprising amount of chocolate. Smooth, creamy, malty. Most of the time out here I order a winter warmer and find some ambiguously styled malt forward hoppy beast. But this is different - closer to a velvety amped up (but not imperial) porter.

2 malt likka in one evening, I feel like I am in college. Draft at Naked City, they donít allow smaller pours of this so I am drinking this in a Tulip glass. Ironic, sardonic, weird, or something all in one. Golden and slick looking, clear. This batch is 11.5 while older batches have been below 9 abv. Aroma does give off that corny, his octane charactet... Thank god!!!!!! I was starting to worry that craft malt likka was too refined. Fusel alcohol mixes withbsweet, wet white bread. Low hop. Man, I wish malt likka tasted this good in college but also cost like $2 for a double deuce as opposed to $7 for 12oz when I am in my 30s.

Naked City Beyond the Pale IPA
Draft pour pint at Naked City, after spending part of this wonderful day running here from my house. If it werenít for burgers and pretzels, running and craft beer would be my perfect pair. Pours a juicy cloudy orange color with a soap bubble head. So much hop aroma and play or here. Love the name too, and it reminds me of a favorite comedian of mine. Juicy hops and a fruity finish. Whatís not to love here?

Naked City Pinkerton Porter
My buddy Mr_Native recommended this beer to me, calling it his favorite porter. Since I havenít made it back to Naked City in forever, I always hoped I would just run into it sometime. A year later, that time is now. Draft pour pint at the Pine Box. Pours jet black with a cream tan foam head. Very nice roasted aroma. Flavor is creamy vanilla sweetness, with a smooth transition to a more robust coffee finish. Has that milk chocolatey, rich flavor that lingers on forever. Sweet like a dessert porter, but has a bold side as well. Very consistent dry cocoa throughout. Exceptional, very enjoyable porter here.

On tap @ Naked City. Pours clear bright reddish copper with thin lacy off-white head. Aroma is sweet oaky big caramel malt, lightly crisp aromatic hops. Taste is syrupy sweet dark caramel malt; dank earthy grassy hops. Lingers slightly bitter on the finish. Although malt is sweet here, could use a bit more to stand up to the heavy hops. Impressive beer from Naked City.

Dark brown. Thin head. I actually really like how this looks because it is not at all what you expect in a kriek. Aroma is a light cherry and maybe some dark malts. The chocolatey malts are actually the dominant taste, though with cherry and cinnamon on top of that.

Naked City Phineas Gage Triple IPA
On tap at Brouwerís Cafe, pours a hazy bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma is a good mix of resinous hops and caramel malts, skewed slightly towards the sweet maltiness. Flavour is similar, with loads of intense resinous hops, backed by a big caramel malt backbone. Rather high alcohol burn on the finish, without being too detracting. Very abrasive and bit perfumey. Decent, but needs refining.

On tap at WA Winter Beer Festival 2015, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lightly tart cherries and a slight hint of cinnamon. Flavour is intense, with a great mix of fruity sweet cherries and cinnamon. Unusual, but they nailed the blend of cinnamon and cherries. Body is rather heavy, almost like a stout. Very enjoyable.

Naked City The Big Lebrewski
This is a beer Iíve never heard of, from a brewery Iíve never heard of, and although Iím not a huge fan of the White Russian, I was gifted this bottle by someone who remembered that Iíd loved the name of the brewery, months after Iíd made the comment. Thanks, @kayakpatrick! - I peel the cap from the bottle, and lean in for the aroma. Hm. Not much there. Weak coffee, no sugar, lots of cream; a little bit of over ripe plum. Iím a bit disappointed as this has already been warming for a few minutes, but I keep the faith and tip the glass to the neck and pour. The beer is a deep nut-brown, the latte-hued foam rises with the cascading liquid, porous and fickle. The head diminishes in just a few minutes, leaving a ring at the glass and a few scattered islands of spongy foam spiraling the surface. I lift the snifter and sip at the rim. I was anticipate very sweet, but what I taste is so much nicer than my expectations. The coffee is predominant, the creaminess in the body very nice; I expected something akin to a White Russian, and I get none of it. No Kahlua, no sweetness, nothing out of the ordinary, just a nice, basic imperial stout, albeit a nice one! - As the beer warms in the glass, the aroma takes a larger space in the snifter. I pull again at the beer, and follow with a deep, long swallow. The Kahlua-soaked oak is not as soaked as I think they meant it to be, but the aroma and flavor of the wood is perfect for the body of the brew. The body is a bit too light for the flavor or the moderately bitter taste, but the stuff is entirely drinkable and Iím led to believe that this is nowhere near a 9% ABV. -The finish is somewhat bitter, a bite on my throat, but the smooth creaminess is a counter to that rough edge. All in all, Iíd say this is a really nice rep for this brewery. Damn nice beer, enjoyable as hell, and I hope to hear from them again.

Poured from a bomber on 11.05.15. A: Milk chocolate, cocoa, and coffee. A: 1/2 finger off-white head that recedes to a ring and a milky spot of foam. Midnight black body with some red in the glass. T: Roasty malt and oak dominate. Milk chocolate and cream are subtle. P: Creamy smooth and light like a porter in the mouth. O: Thereís quite a bit of burn for 9% ABV. The flavors are muted and the Kahlua doesnít seem to be there.
