Rochester Tap Room In Session IPA 2.8
bottled - nice orange color. Decent hop/malt flavor. Decent malt/citrus aroma. ABV of 6.3% is a little high for a session IPA though.

Napa Wild Fire IPA 2.8
Orange brown, small light tan head. Aroma a bit of hops but mostly malt. Medium body. Flavor is mildly bitter, but more towards the sweet malty side. Inoffensive but not very IPA-like, not much really going on here.

Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey 3.1
Bottle. Pours a hazed amber with a medium sized white head. Soft floral malt and a touch of dusty old hops on the nose. Medium bodied, a touch of malt, a bit of paper. Soft bitterness into the finish, a touch of old hops. Not much going on.

Custom Brewcrafters Makumba Double IPA 4.1
It seems that the years of contract brewing for three heads has finally paid off, and these guys have figured out the way to brew a decent beer for a change. Pours gold with a white head. Nice tropical hop expression in the aroma, suggesting late additions and or dry hopping with new world hops (I’m getting citra and possibly mosaic). Taste is gently bitter and semi sweet. Huge tropical flavor derived from the hops, this is genuinely expressive and impressive. Alcohol is well hidden from the slight under attenuation. Get this fresh, I’m guessing the late addition aromatic hops will fade quickly. Still, this is a very good beer. Bravo.

Custom Brewcrafters Black Jack Licorice Stout 3.4
Aroma is fig, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and light tart. Taste is right roasted and toasty malts, caramel, chocolate, licorice and dark sugar. Light tartiness on tip. Well balanced and smooth finishing overall. Appearance is black with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey 3.6
Not a whole lot of aroma but it tastes pretty good. There is a big blast of pine on the tongue with some citrus, a bit of bready malts and a whole lot of resiny bitterness. Enjoyable.

Custom Brewcrafters Night Owl Cream Porter 2.9
I found it a little bitter for how it is advertised. Still mild for a porter. Small tan head. Looks like a root beer in the glass. Nothing special and that’s to be expected for the wordiness of the description.

Custom Brewcrafters Bonobo Session IPA 3
Matched the writeup for me - I don’t read it till I’ve rated. :) I got plenty of citrus, melon, but mostly pine in the nose. Palate is medium to thin and taste and feel is dominated by dry pine. Very drinkable.

Custom Brewcrafters Silverback Double India Pale Ale 3.6

Custom Brewcrafters Twang 2.4
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a huge foamy yellow-white bead that lingered forever and left exceptional lacing. The aroma was dryish, musty, chalky and had a perfume note. The flavor was dry, bitter, musty and yeasty with a strong perfume presence. Very long finish. Medium body. Not good.

Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey 2.8
East Coast IPA. Piney notes. Light body. It has a strong piney taste. Goes down smooth, and not too bitter. Dry finish. Too me this beer is nothing special, and honestly not a very good IPA.

Custom Brewcrafters MacBubba 2.5
Bottle @ home. Burnt orange / brown appearance with a tan head. Oxidized, brown sugar / caramel / toffee, herbal nose. Fairly papery. Moderate high sweetness. Moderate low bitterness. More oxidation / paper / cardboard in the mouth. Not that well balanced. Just a bunch of caramel. Pass.

Custom Brewcrafters Joe Latte’ Vanilla Coffee Stout 3.1

Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey 3.3
12oz bottle. Pours a fairly clear orange caramel with a thin, white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma has mild notes of pine, resin, citrus, bread, caramel, and a touch of floral. Taste is malty but a strong bitter. Toasted bread, biscuit, bread, caramel, slight pine and resin, and almost a touch of highly roasted malts. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a big, dry finish. Overall tasty but probably a bit faded.

Custom Brewcrafters Joe Latte’ Vanilla Coffee Stout 3
Pours deep dark brown. Nose smells strongly of coffee and chocolate syrup. The aroma is coffee and to a lesser extent chocolate, a little bit of vanilla and a little metallic. Creamy, but not as rich as I expected. Also, not as sweet as expected. The vanilla takes its time to show up - and pleasantly so when it does.

12 oz bottle from Niagara Falls Wegmans. Pours a clear bright orange colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is piney and citric hops with some sweet malt and a little earthy character. Flavour is equal parts citrus and pine with sweetish caramel and grains as well as some of that same earthiness. Carbonation on the gentler side. Good.

After 2 years of them always telling me ’We just kicked that keg’ everytime I asked for this beer, they finally had some for me and my son Dan as we stopped in for some today. Custom Brewcrafters Caged Alpha Monkey 3.5
Transfer from BA review on 12-26-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a big billowy white head. The big billowy head has a OK level of retention, fading to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma is biggest of pine and earthy hops along with some more tropical fruit aromas. Along with these smells are some lighter caramel and some mild bready smells. Taste – The taste begins with a bit of a bready and tropical fruit flavor as well as a moderate level of pine hop. As the flavor advances the bready flavors dwindle a little bit, all while the hop flavors get slightly more intense and more complex. Other hops of an earthy nature as well as a little bit of a grass, join the pine midway through the taste, with a citrus hop flavor coming at the very end. While the hops increase in strength and the bready flavors decrease some lighter caramel flavors come to the tongue at the very end, with the combo of flavors leaving a decently multifaceted hopped flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is average as well. The combo of body and carbonation are good for the hop flavors of the brew all while still maintaining the malt and fruity flavors of the brew. Overall – An alright IPA overall with a rather moderately diverse hop profile in the taste. Not the most super smooth or hoppy, but quite enjoyable none the less.

[My bottle (650ml) shared with Ferris, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a dark ruby-brown with an average size diminishing frothy light-brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, leafy hops, chocolate, molasses, brown sugar and more. Flavour of roasted malt, leafy hops, coffee, chocolate and a bit of alcohol. Medium bodied. Really good.

Custom Brewcrafters Harvest Jack Pumpkin Ale 3.2
Bottle:   Lots of spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, but also seems to have lots of scented candle flavors.   Almost like a touch of cranberry.   Also ginger too, quite a bit of it.   This one is real spicy, almost a bit too spicy.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Big sweet spicy finish, lots of ginger, coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon, and maybe even clove.   A bit over the top if you ask me, but at least a bit better than your average example.

Custom Brewcrafters Signature Series Borislav 3.6
2014-08-26. Black body with a modest brown head. 3++ Aroma is lightly roasty over dark malt base, mild alcohol, and fruit notes that come out as it warms. Flavour is similar, dry roast over dark malt. Lingering roasty bitterness is not entirely to my own taste. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent but not an exceptional RIS.
