How: Tap at Shorty’s, New-York
The look: Partly cloudy golden blonde body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Light hoppy nose if floral and a little fruity. The beer is surprisingly tasty, almost intense, considering the light nose. Malt profile doesn’t contribute much flavours, tastes to me like crystal malts with sugary sweetness. Assertive hopping high in alpha acids. Grapefruity, cedary, floral, pine-cones. Very bitter. All that is decent so far. However a few things bothered me about the beer. Too much minerals bringing an undesired almost metallic flavour to the beer. But the main problem was a dry powdery crushed aspirin flavour that ruined the whole thing to me. The other reviewers have good comments about this beer so it is possible that there was something wrong with what I was served. The pint I drank was not really enjoyable. I see that this beer was brewed to celebrate the brewer’s wedding. Long life to the Sixpoint brewer. He may not live longer but now that he is married it will seem longer. Earthy, piney, Grapefruit, with just a bit of caramel. Nice hop character. Good, but I expect more from Sixpoint. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Growler filled at Big Z. Pours a very hazy gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left lots of pinpricks for lace. Pleasant aroma of grassy and herbal hops along with a few citrus notes. The flavor is malt with some bitter grapefruit pith and pine. A nice white bread toast flavor emerges at the swallow and lingers for several seconds. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of mango, grapefruit, generally tropical hops with increasing floral hop notes bordering on herbal. Malty notes also start out light and increase to solid toffee and cracker notes. Flavor the same with a focus on juicy, fruity hops with malt notes present but in the background and never sugary, pretty dry in fact. Nothing groundbreaking but very solid at the least. Loads of fresh, bright, fruity hops. A touch of light tropical citrus and a bit of mango. There is a kiss of fruitiness and a touch of light pine on the back. Very lovely, lean pale malt base. They’ve done a good job of controlling the sweetness in here and letting the juicy hops shine through. A fairly crackery biscuity maltiness. Lots of fresh dry hops and a crisp minerally bitterness. Lingering piny finish. Why don’t their other IPAs taste like this one... it’s awesome.
