Very sweet, smooth beer that was unfortunately let down by a slightly metallic finish. Hope to re rate what was otherwise a top self beer at a fantastic price. Russo (635), Campinas, Brazil

I’ve been avoiding this beer in the back of the fridge for a while now... The nose is all malts, slightly roasted but mostly sugary and warm. The taste has some sweet notes upfront, giving way to strong bitters and high esters... finish is bitter yet metallic. The balance is there and the brew adheres to the style... good, just not my style. NJBeerman013 (801), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 500 ml bottle. Pours near midnight black with a cocoa brown head. The aroma is sweet and sugary with notes of fruit and toasted malts. The flavor is huge, with a great balance of sweetness and floral, herbal hops. Tasting notes of sweet chocolate, toasted nuts, herbal liquorice, dried fruits, and a bit of a cirtus in the backend. It has a full mouthfeel but is not heavy. The finish is sticky and stays with you. Perfect beer for the winter months. A great value as well at about $2.00 per bottle.
