Anything going on this week? I will be staying downtown and stopping by Hop Leaf, Map Room, Goose Island Clybourn, West Lakeview, and hopefully Flossmoor. It would be great to meet a couple ratebeerians at those places or maybe try somewhere new out. Thanks.

Alright guys, so I’m finally going to make it out to SD from 12/13-12/15 I know that I want to visit Stone but other than that I can’t decide where I want to go (too many damn choices, haha). If you had to pick the 3-4 best places to go, what would they be? I’ll be staying near the aiport my first night and in La Jolla my second night and I will have a rental car. Any advice would be great

Atlas Bistro in Scottsdale. Our own ratebeerian hellbilly is one of the 2 head chefs there and let me tell you the food is amazing. The place is really nice. 34+ seats, remarkable food and service. Seriously, if you find yourself in the area, give them a call and and prepare for a great meal. And give me a call when you go, I will meet you there with some great beers in hand...oh yeah, its BYOB.

I’m going to Vegas for the weekend. Here’s the catch... I’m reading the reviews here on this website and it seems like Ellis Island is the type of place I’m looking for - super cheap food that isn’t nasty with at least one good beer. Atmosphere? Don’t care too much. Any others like this? I’m sure there are a bunch not entered here because of the type of place I’m looking for isn’t required to be a beer heaven.

Does Bottle Barn have the newest batch of Uberhoppy on the shelves yet? Just wondering if anybody knows how often TAPS updates their taplist? I still see Valley Uberhoppy on, but don’t see the last time they updatedlisted. That’d be the main reason I went. Thanks. Joey

My wife and I are in Ireland presently and enjoying ourselves. So far we have had the general Irish fare of Guinness, Kilkenny, Beamish, and Smithwicks. We are leaving on Saturday, 07 November; are there any breweries we should go visit? We will be back in the Dublin area on 14 Novemeber also, but will be near Trinity College. Any ideas where to go? We’ll be in Scotland from 07 November until 14 November in the Inverness area. We plan on going to a few scotch whiskey distilleries (if they are open), but I’m interested if there are any breweries or brewpubs that would need a visit. Would appreciate any possible sites we could go visit. Also, any good food in the suggestions (bar menu/restaurant/etc)?

US to Canda with a lot of beer

What kind of issues am I going to run into crossing from the US into Canada with a lot of beer if my intent is to leave Canada with the beer that I brought in? I am planning to take a road trip from Philly to MN with stops at Three Floyds, New Glarus and Bell’s along the way. On my way home I was planning to swing up to Toronto for a bit but I imagine I’ll have at least three cases of beer or more in my trunk. Any customs issues that I should be aware of? If so, any way around them? Thx!!

Belgium Without a Car

Hey Everyone, I’m interested in traveling to Belgium for 3-4 days next week. I’ll be taking the train there from Germany, and won’t have access to a car. Also, in the interest of saving money, I’ll probably be confining myself to one city/local area. Is Brussels my best bet if I don’t have a car? Or does anyone have any advice on how to best approach a quick trip to Belgium given my car situation? Thanks in advance for your help. Max

Best South Carolina Store for SC singles?

Trying to plan a couple stops on my way home around Christmas time and I’m taking 26 all the way across the state to 95, so I’ll be close enough to go to Greenville, Columbia, Spartanburg, maybe Charleston if it is worth it. Basically I’m looking for a recommendation on the best stop to find as many South Carolina bottled beers as I can. I have already had the whole Thomas Creek bottled line-up so I’m looking for RJ Rockers, Palmetto, Coast, Charleston, just about anything else in bottles. Thanks for any recommendations.

Hi Ratebeer beer raters, I’m fairly new to this site and I’m not much of a rater, but I thought I’d share something else about myself through this website for those who are interested. Right now I’m in Belgium, on a post-graduation voyage to learn the art and science of brewing with the intention of opening my own brewery upon returning to the States. I’ve been lucky enough to score some time at De Struise and Alvinne in the three days I’ve been in Belgium, and I’m looking forward to several more months as their blunt object, helping them out in and out of their breweries. I’ll be keeping a blog on Struise’s website, and you can find it through this link or on www.struise.be. You can also check out archives of my time in France this past September here.
