Silvius Brabo is a hero in Belgian folklore, a Roman soldier who killed a giant called Druon Antigoon. Old Antigoon (another good name for a beer...or a band) asked peeps who wanted to pass the bridge over the river Scheldt for money. When they didn’t or couldn’t pay up, he cut off their hands and threw them into the river. A pissed off Brabo slayed him, cut off the hand of the giant, spit on it (I made that up) and threw it into the river. Fittingly analogous to Lake Bluff Brewing Company (Silvius) battling megabreweries (’Goon the Giant) all so you can cross a bridge...or something... Light colored and minimally hopped, it’s refreshing and surprisingly easy drinking for a 7.25% beer.
