We created a new beer inspired by "bourbon" and aged it in 5 different bourbon (or whiskey) barrels. We wanted a beer that would be interesting enough on its own, but that would really show off the character of each of the different bourbons and barrels. And so we did. It’s the beautiful color of bourbon and, like its boozey counterpart, has barley, wheat and even corn in the mash. It’s kind of somewhere between a bourbon and a beer. So we call it the Mash Up!
Pappy Van Winkle is aged for 20 years and is easily the cult bourbon made today. It is incredible stuff. And we feel privileged to be able to use their barrel. Quite a humbling honor really. This version reflects the soft subtleties of this amazing bourbon.
