Tasting (2012): At first it’s soft and tasty with a note of spicy aniseed and a slight licorice finish. In northern France, the tradition is to make a brew in October (just before receiving the new raw malts) with malt stocks from the previous year to avoid mixing the vintage. This beer is perfumed with spice. Mascaret makes a different Christmas beer every year
