Yes we did it, we put Fruity Pebbles cereal in our mash tun and made a beer with this rice-based cereal. I had to calculate the amount of rice starch and pre-sweetened sugar that I was adding. Turns out 1/3rd of this cereal is sugar! imagine yourself in front of a bowl of rice krispies…. now take two bites of the cereal and follow it with a spoonful of sugar–repeat. No wonder kids love this cereal, it’s basically little floating candy bars in milk. YUM! BAM BAM! is based on a Belgian specialty ale with a blend of several Belgian strains of yeast. It comes in at 7.7% ABV and meerly 21 ibus. The fruit esters are big (due to the flavorings from the cereal and the yeast imparts these esters as well). The body is very light and finishes dry. Unless you’re used to putting vodka on your Fruity Pebbles, you’ve never had an alcohol experience this this before. Prost! and BAM BAM!
