The base beer is that of a Black IPA (aka Cascadian Dark Ale, American Black Ale) in that it is black in color yet has a subdued level of roasted malt character. It is hopped like an IPA with copious amounts of Citra, and Wakatu hops. Inspired by Thai cuisine and flavors this ale also has additions of Lemongrass, ginger, mint, and coconut giving it a fresh, herbal like character that blend well with the roasted malts and hops.
