The Nook recently got together with Yellowhammer Brewing to make them some custom beers. Yellowhammer brewed two different Scotch Ale’s, a Scotch 60 and 120, called "Forranach". The Forranach 60/- is described as a traditional Scottish style ale. At 3.2% ABV it tastes like a beer of much greater strength. Brewed with Scottish grown Golden Promise malt and with the addition of dark German Munich malts, this low gravity ale packs a flavorful punch. Extra long boiling times provide deep caramel flavors. Low levels of hop bitterness help enhance the rich maltiness. This ale is served on nitrogen to give the beer a smooth and silky mouthfeel. You can find it on tap exclusively at The Nook.
