101 North High Gravity IPA 101 North Brewing Company Petaluma, California
Beer style: IIPA DIPA - Imperial / Double IPA Ref: ratebeer.com May2024
Common descriptors are "Gravity" in the context of brewing refers to the density of the liquid extracted from the grain (wort). The density, or "gravity" of the wort depends on the sugar content (more sugar = higher density = higher gravity). By stuffing the mash tun to the gills with the highest quality barley, we’re able to extract a "High Gravity" wort with a higher concentration of natural sugar to which we add A LOT of hops. We mean LOTS OF HOPS! (HGIPA has an average of 4 lbs. of hops per barrel)
PLEASE NOTE: To experience this naturally hand-crafted ale in all of its splendor, please keep it cold and consume when fresh, which means right now! |
