Dark wild Saison with Peppercorns.

In 2014 our Brewmaster teamed up with Italian craft beer pioneer Agostino Arioli, owner/brewmaster of Birrificio Italiano in Lurago Marinone, Italy, and maker of the famous Tipopils, the beer that inspired FW's Pivo Pils. For the 2015 Invitational, Matt and Ago each brewed a dark Saison, called "La Piccola" at their respective breweries. Ours was then sent to Buellton for the "infamous Barrelworks treatment." Sichuan peppercorns were added at both breweries contributing a lively sensation. In addition, our batch was matured 12 months in French oak barrels. The Barrelworks version displays black pepper and lemon zest aromas that mingle with clove, vanilla, toasty malt and oak.
