04609 is brewed to celebrate the beer community in Maine and on Mount Desert Island. Part of the proceeds of 04609 sales will help fund a local pilot hop project. Our goal is to encourage local farmers to cultivate Maine hops and promote high standards of sustainability, both economic and agricultural. After 25 years of brewing, we feel strongly about the importance of helping small businesses to flourish. With this multi-year project, we hope to both shepherd the production of local hops, and create a beer which sustains the community that enjoys it.
