Glasgow’s favourite independent brewery, marks its 10th anniversary with the launch today (07.03.16) of its ‘official’ birthday party beer – a special Party Pilsner (5.5% ABV) – available on draught from its two venues. While the pilsner may be higher in IBU (29 IBU) than any other WEST beer to date, it is distinctly well balanced and refreshing. According to WEST founder Petra Wetzel, Party Pils is the perfect way to celebrate WEST. Wetzel says: “Party Pils has a very light malt bill and a dry finish allowing additions of Cascade, Mandarina Bavaria, and Hallertau Blanc hops to shine. It’s like a sparkling wine you enjoy by the pint. Sweet scents of sherbet and gooseberry are accented by notes of green peppers, grass, and grapefruit.
