Not a true Oktoberfest lager as this beer is an ale. But in celebration of fall and our wonderful mountain town, McCall we dubbed it The McCtoberfest. A moderate amount of magnums and nuggets are used early on in the boil. With small editions of Mt. Hoods throughout. This adds good bitterness and some hop flavor that is nearly overtaken by significant crystal malt additions and extra residual sugar relative to our flagship ales. The added body and sweetness proved very popular in our pub and the local Oktoberfest down the street. We look forward to its return in the fall.
