Examining the many varied examples to draw from I have designed a fantastic ale. What do I mean by bigger? Bigger in beer can refer to any of the major components of taste and appearance. So with the Winter Warmer we have ale that demonstrates: bigger taste, bigger maltiness, bigger bodily warming. Nine different malts give this ale a very complex flavor and a full mouth feel. Balancing out this malt character are the English hops and Kent Goldings; both considered to be the perfect English ale hops. Along with the hops, that lovely warming from the alcohol helps balance the bigger maltiness. All these factors ead to a surprisingly dry finish in ale that is dangerously easy to drink.
