Crisp, drinkable lager with a malty backbone and a pleasant hop character. Stronger lagers have been traditionally brewed in Germany as "export lagers", which was a tax classification for slightly higher alcohol content. At 7% ABV this version is caught in beer-style purgatory just above export strength lager, and just below bock strength lager. [Verified with the brewmaster that this is a different recipe than the 1757 Amber Lager.]
