Around the time Altbier was popular in Germany, occasional errors in measuring would lead to higher alcohol, hoppier versions of German Alt. Brewers would go from door to door telling only the select few about this secret (Sticke in the local dialect) batch of Alt. We’ve taken the same approach with our house Kolsch, producing a higher alcohol, hoppier version of our standard Kolsch.
