Yep, those crazy kids Danny, Jay and the rest of the Quaff Bros. team are making more unique styles of beer and soaking them in Kentucky’s best Bourbon barrels. This time they prove no style of beer is safe, and have taken an already delicious Imperial Pumpkin Ale, with the help of local brewery Rivertown Brewing Co., and aged it in “Old Fitzgerald DSP-KY16” Bourbon Barrels. At first whiff this seasonal ale blows off a bouquet dominated by sweet vanilla, graham cracker, caramel, brown sugar and booze. It loosens up on the mid-palate and showcases a flavor profile of nutmeg and cinnamon before dialing out to a long crisp and dry finale. This beer is just in time to keep the Pumpkin Ale craze alive while other releases are running out of product. This small one-off concoction produced just seven 1/6 barrels and will run out fast so stop reading this and come in for a fill of Uncle Fitz’s Country Bumpkin.
