Polish Gratzen or Piwo Grodziskie beer for Euro 2012 co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine. A traditional Polish wheat beer made with oak smoked wheat malt and heaviliy hopped with Polish Marynka hops. This style of beer died out in the 1990s but rumours abound of its re-emergence; to help it on its way we have produced our interpretation of the beer with oak smoked wheat malt from Weyermann Maltings in Bamburg. Smoky, hoppy and bitter this beer will challenge your ideas about what beer can taste like. "Uppin" is an old Prussian word for cloud, which perfectly describes this cloudy, smoky wheat beer. |
