Drawing inspiration from the Alamo to Auckland, this international Pale Ale presents a hazy orange color and a rocky white head. Building on a base of North American 2 Row and German Vienna malt, touches of British caramel malts and Belgian Aromatic malt round out a well balanced body. The hopping is wide ranging too, with German Hallertau, Styrian Goldings from Slovenia, Cascade from the US and Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. The aroma is of bright tropical fruit with earthy, grassy and spicy undertones. The flavor is more fruit, backed up with bready, toasty malt character and a bit of spice from our house Belgian yeast. Created in the spirit of one our childhood influences, this beer strives to balance openness, inclusivity, absurdity, and most of all fun! This dry, medium bodied ale may be a rebel, but is certainly not a loner. So grab a few friends, a glass of Kiwi Herman, and relax in the CBC playhouse!
