We have sourced rare oloroso sherry casks to mature this limited brew. The casks started their life in Spain but were also used to mature some pretty tasty scotch whisky before they came to us. The beer is rich and spicy with lots of nutty caramel sweetness drawn from the wood
colour:golden
smell:sticky figs, grassy freshness fromthe hops, with some cloves and allspice
Taste:caramel sweetness and ripe red grapes, balanced out by an earthy hop bitterness
Finish: rich and long lasting
What to have with it: soft goats cheese, beef carpaccio, olives or figs
Malt: I&G ale malt, crystal malt, wheat
Hops: fuggles
Maturation: 60 days; oloroso sherry casks.
(Extra details: 200BBL beer pre-aged in unused oak casks, transferred to oloroso butts stored at william grants, vatted, cold conditioned for a few weeks then bottled) |
