A collaboration between Burnside Brewing and Portland Brewing that combines the hops of a Pacific Northwest I.P.A and the smokiness of a Rauchbier. We used Ashburne mild as a base malt which helps round out the 17% cherrywood-smoked rye, giving this beer a big malt backbone with a slightly sweet smokey flavor. The big hop flavor and hop aroma come from large quantities of a Simco and Meridian blend that are added in 5 additions throughout the brewing process.
