Common descriptors are
Luckenbock: Our version of this traditional dark German lager is fermented at cool temperatures and cold-aged for an extended period of time. Garnet in color and big in flavor, this is our interpretation of the bock enjoyed by Central Texas’ first German settlers. Malty, earthy, crisp. 7% abc The real thing can be hard to find. Like a certain hill country hamlet that’s as much legend as it is metropolis. Yep, Luckenbach can be an illusive mistress as you search the backroads around Fredericksburg. It may only be 13 miles away, but it’s a lifetime apart. You feel it in your bones. The tunes sound better, the ‘cue tastes better, and the beer feels colder. Maybe that’s why so many Texas songsmiths make the pilgrimage. This ain’t about keeping up with the Jones’. This is keeping a haven of soul quenching authenticity in an increasingly FUBAR world. Sorta like another kind of bock—a proud but often abused brew with a strong Texas history. To taste the real thing is an inspiring experience. The brew you’re holding was painstakingly brought back to the basics with real caramel malts and a lagering process worthy of German discipline. Amidst a sea of pretenders, we have finally created a beer worth of bock. So we’re takin’ it’s name back. Luckenbach, meet LuckenBock. Because going the extra mile or 12 is always worth it when you’re looking for the real thing.
