Pikes Peak Incline Imperial IPA Pikes Peak Brewing Company Monument, Colorado
Beer style: IIPA DIPA - Imperial / Double IPA Ref: ratebeer.com May2024
Common descriptors are The Incline was built in 1907 as a narrow gauge funicular railway to service water tanks high above the historic town of Manitou Springs. It served as a tourist ride until a rainstorm washed away the tracks in 1990. Today it is a fitness challenge to climb the path, rising 200 ft. in under a mile.
This beer is constructed to match the proportions of the hike in an Imperial IPA. Built with over 3 lbs of hops per barrel. It clocks in at 185 IBU’s (calculated) and 10.5% ABV. As the trail, it is not for the faint of heart and carries a sense of accomplishment when finished. |
