We’ve had the unique opportunity to work with Plant and Food Research and New Zealand Hops to trial a range of new unreleased hops. Inside this can is a promising new cultivar – the product of an exhaustive and rigorous breeding programme. In our small batch trials it has shown enough promise to warrant a call back. Like an aspiring actor this may be its one and only chance to shine. In this series of hop trial beers we aim to give each aspiring bine its best opportunity to impress. Here we’ve chosen an IPA, with a supporting cast of Pilsner, Pale, Sour and Rye malt designed to lift, but not overpower this hop hopeful.
