Common descriptors are
Barrel Aged Double Cream Stout is a double cream stout aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels. The barrels themselves, and held the spirit for nearly 15 years. We got them wet, straight from the distillery, then filled them with the beer. Over the next 7 months, the beer aged in the barrels, taking on the elements of char, oak, vanilla and of course bourbon in the barrels.

The beer itself, was brewed to stand up to those characteristics. A double chocolate malt and midnight wheat were the base of this beer. With a 15 gallon brew system, this beer was a double batch, double brewed.

The beer went in around 9 abv and came out above 10. It’s got an IBU of 72. It’s incredibly dark, rich and creamy. Its head has taken a caramel hue from the char of the barrel.
