The ongoing barrel blend series is named Barn Owl, as a nod to the wise and exacting animal that keeps watch over the farmhouse. Released sporadically throughout the year, just as soon as we deem the barrels ripe for the picking, these beers will be one-off creations never to be replicated again. Each blend will be different. Not all blends will be sour, as some will just be brett barrel blends (reminder: brett alone does not make beer sour). Blend No.2 — This fruity blend of brett pale ales includes 80% 1 yr and 20% 3 yr with plum. Dry-hopped with Ella, the aroma reminds us of Motley 2014, with a focus on floral hops, fruit, and brett. Aromatics of honeydew melon and papaya give way to soft flavours of apricot, tangerine, and oak. Nice bitterness in the final impression. This is not a sour.
