The shilling rating is a uniquely Scottish measure for a beer’s strength. The higher the shilling the stronger the beer. This "light" Scottish Ale has a mild malt sweetness. 100% NYS Willamette and Chinook hops offer an earthy balance. Another of our favorites to join the popular English Mild is our version of a Scottish 60 Shilling Ale. Traditionally the strength of the beer dictated the price and therefore the name. This is a low ABV Scottish Ale also known as a Two-Penny. It’s a great ale to fill up several pints on a lazy afternoon!
