It’s called Ten, because it’s the tenth different IPA recipe we’ve brewed. As a name, Ten worked pretty well for Pearl Jam. As a number, it worked pretty well for Mookie Blaylock. Good enough for them, good enough for us. That may seem like a lot of different IPAs, for a two-year-old brewery. But we occasionally go on an experimental tear, and brew a series of one-off batches–so the numbers can rack up quickly sometimes. Recently, we stayed on one recipe for a while. It was called Sitar. But the itch to change got too intense, and we had to scratch it. So, Ten. We dialed down the malty character on this one. A very simple malt bill, with none of the Maris Otter that was characteristic of Sitar. This lets the hops take center stage. And we dialed everything else up: alcohol, hop flavor, hop aroma, and bitterness. Ten clocks in at 70 IBU and 7.1% ABV. Let us know what you think of it!
