Olde Voyager is our limited release English-style Barleywine that we release once a year on draft to our local market. The beer is brewed with respect for English strong ale brewing and the impact English beers have had on modern beer styles. This beer uses all English malts, hops and yeast and is rich and complex enough to hide its high ABV. This version is aged for 8 months in bourbon barrels and this keg is one of the few that came from a barrel aged additionally on vanilla beans. This combination adds a multitude of vanilla and oak notes to the already rich caramel forward ale. Only 6 bourbon barrels were filled this year for Olde Voyager to rest in. Of those 6 only 1 barrel was rested additionally on vanilla beans so there are only a few kegs of this batch in existence. It will only be tapped at the brewery under special occasion and at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting.
