Lipreader is brewed every year for the winter season. Loads of crystal malt and a dash of Swedish alder-smoked malt make the backbone around which the recipe changes every year. The 2015 edition has taken the guise of an early 20th century-style Burton ale, a forgotten beer style that used to be a favourite winter seasonal in Britain. A rich, malty, full-bodied beer with a fruity and somewhat spicy character, with distinct hops and molasses notes along with that woody smokiness that is the hallmark of this beer.
