The Bruery Haututū The Bruery Placentia, California
Beer style: Belgian Ale - Strong Pale Ref: ratebeer.com May2024
Common descriptors are Māori for “mischief”, Haututū is Mischief dry-hopped exclusively with New Zealand hops. A lot of them. This devious twist to our hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale is dry-hopped with Motueka, Waimea, Wakatu and Rakau hops instead of the usual, fiendish, dry-hop dosing of American hops featured in Mischief. While kiwi didn’t make it onto our tasting notes for Haututū, here’s what did: cantaloupe, green papaya, pineapple, lemon drops and an underlying grassiness, to name a few of the characteristics imparted by the New Zealand hops. We just tapped this beer, so come on in for a pint and full growler fill! |
