about me


Real beer is best. Born in England, I've been a CAMRA member since the age of 18. Inspired by Michael Jackson's World Guide to Beer, I began exploring Belgium and the Rhineland in the 1980's. The notes I assembled to help on trips were the start of my own guides. I've lived in Holland for 17 years. Cataloguing the pubs of Amsterdam is my life's work. Luckily, one which I will never complete. My dream is to take over Guinness and return their stout to the real world.
