I fell in love with beer while visiting Belgium with my fiancee (now wife of 11 years). Because she is from Belgium, our extended stay with her family allowed me to sample the delicious beers that country has to offer. That summer in '91, I sampled well over 100 different Belgian beers, many local specialties; I still have the label collection I kept as my "trophies". Although I have since tasted many other very good domestic and foreign beers, the Belgian ales remain my preference. Nothing tops the memory I have of a delightful Corsendonk Angus on the boardwalk at Knokke.
