Good beer is just like good wine. In fact good beer always beats good wine. German beers are always somewhere between reasonable good and out-of-this-world. Basically, any beer with some identity appeals to me! What I HATE is English beer festivals, with the beers as flat as a pancake, dribbling out of an aluminium cask... not so good! What I love is any beer with a clean, distinctive taste. Current favourites are the Bavarian weissbiers, McEwans Champion, London Pride, and other distinctive beers! Anything served in a town centre pub is invariable rubbish (Stella, Fosters, XXXX, Carling, 1664 et al). [ less ]
