COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name of this beer style comes from the German word “alt” meaning “old”. This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2018 Found in bottle from variety pack from binnys in Springfield, Illinois. Nice amber color with mild malt aroma. Didn't enjoy the taste as much. No weird aftertaste but just a bit lacking throughout.

Donkergeel bier met een volle kaki schuimkraag. Aroma's van mout, karamel, gedroogd fruit, brooddeeg. Heeft een olieachtige textuur in het glas en is op het eind kruidig, iets bitter en droog.

29/6/2018. Draft at Yard House at The Linq, Laz Vegas. Pours amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt, biscuit and a hint of chocolate and spice. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation.

BEST BY: 082918. Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, dark amber-toned body with a diminishing, white head. Smell: A sweet-smelling nose of cold toast, grains and apple candy as well as some supporting, smaller accents of spice, nut shells. Taste: Malty, fruity fare with toasted nuts, breadcrusts and grains rounded by a toffee-brown sugar-like sweetness. Strong apple note. Gently spicy, lightly floral hops with a reserved bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Lightly carbonated. Overall: A sweetish, malty one, though it's not problematically cloying. I haven't crossed paths with this one in many, many years.

Nice medium amber color. Not much aroma. Amber head didn't last. Seemed fizzy in the mouth. Light body. Might be too cold and too carbonated. Held in mouth malt flavor comes out with mild hop bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
