Clear amber with nice cream colored head. Clean taste that you get from a lager. Straw grassy taste with malty aftertaste. Not what I expected, but very drinkable nevertheless. angel77 (3483) - oviedo, SPAIN - AUG 15, 2017

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2017 I drank this many years ago, thought I’d give it a try now that I’m into micros. Happy to say it still tastes great. a little ’go to’ beer. rob19a (377) - - AUG 11, 2017
10/20 initial taste like a lager but it’s got a bit of zest to it and a pleasant long aftertaste dunklermessias (254) - GERMANY - AUG 6, 2017
355 ml bottle. Pours with a clear, dark amber color with a very nice off-white head. Aromas of orange-peel, syrup, dark honey, hay. Taste is herbal with bitter flavors, although some grapes. Nice mouthfeeling. Nice dry finish.

Anchor Steam Beer pours a copper color with minimal haze and its short-lived head is white. The nose unfolds notes of wood, orange peels, and breadiness. The attack is as bready as expected from the nose and is first followed by a relatively grippy yet silky mid-palate of wood as well as pine needles and finally by a bitter finish with just a hint of mint leaves. Rustic and enjoyable. AnG_BrgNor (759) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 2, 2017
Bottle. Clear dark golden with white head. Aroma and taste is malty, caramel grassy, bead and citrus. A midium bitter ending. A decent beer. DonGregorio (439) - POLAND - AUG 2, 2017
Bottle. Clear amber colour, large, creamy, tan head. Aroma of malt, hay, biscuit, caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and bitter, malt, biscuit, caramel, floral, mild earthy. Medium- body, average to lively carbonation. Decent. harry_p_ness (18) - - JUL 27, 2017
Almost seems like a blueprint to the perfect beer. Lager/ale hybrid. The beer pours a red copper color with a big creamy head. Smells earthy, caramel, herbs, spruce. Medium malt sweetness with a nice balance form the pine and spruce like hops. A hint of fruit from the yeast and a nice carbonation, light- medium body with a refreshing crisp dry/creamy finish. Very easy drinking plus good with food. Can never go wrong with this one. loscovar (393) - Villeneuvette, FRANCE - JUL 26, 2017
Bottle from saveur bière.com. Little ambar, pretty sweet, average beer, ok.
