I feel bad, I can’t recall having this or how I had it. I can only assume tap at Volo based on other reviews. My notes: That it was cloudy and amber, smelled malty and sweet, and tasted sour with plums, prunes and bitter hops. Seems I thought it was just alright. :) mabel (10011) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 10, 2009
[2080-20090405] Tap. Smells like bees... sweaty bees. Very odd. And some honeycomb and beeswax malt. Hazy, amber red body with a small long-lasting creamy off-white head. Some beeswax malt continues in the flavour with booze and lots of heavy malt and mild fruitiness. Medium-full body is dry. Odd, but fine.

A lightly hazed reddish amber bock with a resilient creamy thin off white head. Another nice aroma of cinnamon hearts, bubblegum and light ginger. In mouth, a more grainy malt, with light bananas, a bit chalky, some rye notes. Medium bodied. On tap at C’est What, March 21, 2009. robinvboyer (4837) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 2, 2007
on tap at volo. Nice to see a little brewery like this tring new things, but to me this is a miss. body was quite thin and wattery to what i would expect in a bock, and the malt wasnt as much there as i wuld have liked, but a good effot though. Tap at chaucer’s a few weeks ago. Pours ruby red with a beige frothy cap, with some lace. Faint fruity/caramel malt aroma, some sugars, perhaps some plum. Fruity flavours with some burnt sugars, molasses and perhaps some fig. Finishes smooth with just a little touch of the booze. Not too bad.

On tap at Volo - came a dark amber with a decent white head. Not much in the aroma, some sweet malt, that’s about it. Flavour takes you by surprise, in this respect - nice body, lots of quality malts and some hops in the background. Alcohol makes itself present in the back of the mouth and there is a sort of dry finish after all the sweet malt. A nice product - good warming lager, and certainly not a style brewed often in these parts - kudos to Better Bitters for testing the waters. tomthompson89 (1983) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 21, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2007 at Volo lots of sweet malts, dark ruby colour, some beige head, little lacing, sweet flavour, not a great aftertaste but nice they try new things DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 21, 2007
Soft, sweet malt and yeast? Dark copper, small tan head. Mild malt flavour, sweet, dry average. mds (2256) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 14, 2007
Draught. Dark mahogany-copper body with a small creamy white head. Light caramel aroma, cheese, green leaves, and mild spices. Tasty to begin with caramel sugar, faint hop bitterness, and substansive doughy fruit flavour. Not overly complex but it sure is enjoyable.

Tasted at Volo on January 12, 2007.
Draught at Volo. Pours a clear deep ruby with a small diminishing white head. Mild aroma of sweet malt, dark fruit and spices -- it’s alright. Flavour’s quite dull and watery: it starts malty, only lightly roasty, followed by lots of grain, some sourness and a little metal. Average bodied. I didn’t like this very much.
