Festive Christmas Porter. Special Thank's for Karol for buying in Southampton. Mikolaj na etykiecie zadowolony niemal jak ja, bylem pod wrazeniem aromatycznym. Czekolada Catburry, kakao z mlekiem, sporo przyprawionego piernika swiatecznego, lukrecja, odrobina anyzu i pieprzowo chmielowe rozgrzanie przelyka. Ciemne, bardzo, lekko metniste, srednia piana, lecz opada szybko. Posmak swiateczny pozostaje sporo w gardle. Genialny Porter

Cask at The Blue Mugge, Leek. A deep brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, dried fruits and slight spice. Taste of roasted malts, dried fruits, some red berries and subtle spice. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, dried fruit and roasted bitterness in the finish. A standard, traditional porter. Roasty and fruity.

From old tasting notes. Clear reddish brown color with a brief tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma redolent of dark molasses. Light sweet roasted malt flavor has a touch of hop bitterness. Salty notes in middle. Bitter hop finish is dry and spicy. Rather light bodied for a porter. Well balanced and interesting.

Cask at the Plough & Harrow JDW, black with a lasting fine crema, nose is dark dried fruit, lightly roasty malt, hint of cocoa, faint red fruit tartness, body is creamy-dry with more lightly tangy fruit and a dry burnt cocoa and coffee bitterness. Very nice - it’s in great condition.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as ’Burton Bridge Burton Porter’, old school pump clip. Dark brown with a ruby hue to light, foamy light brown head. Aroma is demerara, bready malt, some varnish and creosote. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is quite watery, a little spice and dark breads, light vegetal note, papery finish. Quite watery and simple. Just ok - wouldn’t come back to this one.
