COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

On tap at La Rovira. Pours bright red. Raspberry, tart, strong farmyard, plenty of hay, red wine, quite herbal, proper raspberry flavour, strong red wine vinegar tartness, big complexity, touch of cherry and a bunch more farmyard funk and tartness at the end. Low carbonation soft body. Really good.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2018 On tap. Appearance: nice cleat slightly light red, low-medium white foam with medium retention and medium carbonation. Smell: quite complex lambic aromas with subtle raspberry. Taste: matches smell, with medium sourness, low sugar and high drinkability . Overall: easily the best fruit beer I've had, complex Cantillon lambic meets nice raspberry aromas.

From Bottle. Pours a bright red with a pink head. Tart raspberry jam, other fruits like strawberry and even light cherry also come to mind. Fruit-forward on this specific quite young bottle but already showing it’s funk, heavy oak, light vinegar and hay notes.

Barwa czerwona. Aromat zmienia się wraz z upływem czasu. Początkowo sporo świeżych malin, mokrego siana, stajni, konia. Dalej aromat staje się bardziej stonowany, wychodzi dzikość, skóra z malinową kwaśnością w tle. W smaku musujące, z początku świeże maliny dają subtelną słodycz, później jednak dominuje strona wytrawna. Czuć taniny, skórę, kwaśność na średnim poziomie. Piwo nie jest agresywne, raczej stonowane. Na finiszu czuć owocowy akcent. Naprawdę dobre framboise, choć jest jeszcze potencjał aby bardziej podkręcić to i owo

Intensely sharp, beautiful funk and a maturing, vinegary sweetness (in the best possible way). This feels in a different league to other “sours” that I’ve tried, probably due to its aging process? Those raspberries cut through the lambic like nobody's business. Nose: subtle fermented summer fruits, Taste: see above :D - 750ml bottle from Hop Duvel, enjoyed in the unexpected British sun, and long into the evening. Brilliant.

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2018 0.2 litre taster at Cafe SARA. Red with pink head. Malta, hops and sour fruits. Not bad!
